SMB's first ever outreach. We were graced by the support of Team Conquer. The elders had a grand time. SMB peeps showed their talents and their love to our elders. It was really great to make other people happy. Hope to visit them again soon!

This was our very first SMILE project (second outreach for year 2008) and it was really fun being with the aeta kids in Sitio Target, Sapang-bato. WS Pacific donated children's books, SMB peeps gave their share: monetary, goods, old clothes and most impotantly their support and presence during the event. SMB members showed that working together, we can achieve a lot of things and helping people is on top of the list.........and also climbing mountains :)

The first community we visited when we conducted our SMILE Project in Mount Ugu. Very serene and clean place. The children were timid but their SMILE'S were priceless!!!

The second place we visited in our Mount Ugu SMILE Project. We were graced by the PTA, Parents and children. We had a grand time here. The children sang thank you and tears fell from the eyes of some SMBerks. A moment we will never forget!!!

Mountaineering Course held in Nature Discovery Camp Tagaytay. Modules covered were Mountaineering Essentials, Intro to Navigation and Map Reading, Ropesmanship and Intro to Rapelling and Survival Essentials

This was a tuneup climb for our upcoming SMILE Climb in Mount Ugu. Slippery trail made it difficult and really tested the mettle of everyone. Still the perseverance, patience and strong will of each member prevailed. No complains at all. Enjoy the pictures! **** We do not recommend climbing Marami during summer especially for those who hate open trails. ****

Pictures from our Mount Ugu Traverse with SMILE (see pics in the SMILE Category). This is one of the best climbs ever!!! Although we were a big group we were able to pace well and do a two-day trek instead of a 3-day one. KUDOS to the organizers and participants who prepared well. Anyone who wants to climb Mount Ugu should be ready for anything!!!
