Kibungan Circuit 3 Peaks 2015

Wow! How long has it been since I last posted a blog? I have been very busy with work and I haven’t written anything here. Nevertheless I still got the chance to climb last March 20, 2015 with Rhian Ilagan and Jayson Arguelles. Kibungan was the perfect place to remove stress and work fatigue 🙂

We were supposed to be 5 in the team but only three of us pushed with the climb. We had so many last minute panic moments. One was when Rhian had doubts if he will be joining. Another one was when I saw a nail sticking out of the front tire of my strada. Fortunately the nail did not cause any air leaks but to be sure I did not remove it.

Jayson, Rhian and me at the helm of my pickup with the nail in the front tire, left Manila around 11PM and we arrived in Baguio around 3:30AM the next day. We stopped over at a 711 store to buy last minute supplies then proceeded to Acop Tollgate, La Trinidad Benguet. The lady on duty at the toll gate pointed us to the road towards Kibungan.

Along the way to Kibungan I had a lot of close calls with the endless zigzag mountain roads and boulders on the side. I was very sleepy and my two passengers were snoring like pigs hahaha. When they felt my sudden brakes, they awoke and we located a place to stopover for a while so that I can take a short nap which turned out to be an hour of sleep.

Around 6:00AM I was recharged and we continued our journey towards Kibungan. The view of the mountains made us all the more excited. Around 7:30AM we arrived in Kibungan safe and sound. The weather was a chilling 13 degrees. I loved it!!!

I will not make this blog a long one. If you want to view the Itinerary click HERE.

Below are some video clips I took when I had the luxury of time haha. I will post photos in the gallery soon.

Thanks for reading! God bless!
